When to Winterize Here

Watch for the first sustained hard freeze — in the Gainesville and Lake Lanier area that's typically late November, earlier if you're up toward Dahlonega or Helen, where mountain nights run colder. If your rig will sit unused from Thanksgiving to March, don't gamble on a warm winter.

What Actually Gets Protected

• Fresh water system — drained and treated with RV antifreeze so lines and fixtures can't split
• Water heater — drained and bypassed (and it's the right moment to check the anode rod)
• Holding tanks — emptied and, ideally, professionally cleaned so nothing sits all winter
• Exterior seals — inspected before winter rain finds the gaps

The Spring Side
